INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Visio 2002 issue that is fixed in the Visio 2002 post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated March 10, 2005.

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • You receive a "Build canceled by user" error message when you try to build a logical database model in Microsoft Visio for Enterprise Architects 2002

    Consider the following scenario. You create a database model project by using the Database Model Diagram solution in Visio for Enterprise Architects 2002. Then, you add an Object Role Modeling (ORM) source model to the project. When you point to Project on the Database menu, and then click Build to build the logical database model, the build operation is not completed successfully. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

    Build canceled by user

    You may also experience these symptoms after you add a new rule to the ORM source model in a database model project that was previously built without any errors.
