SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, when you try to process a message by using a Microsoft Message Queuing transport adapter send port, the BizTalk Messaging engine may not successfully process the message. Additionally, you receive an Error event that is similar to the following in the Application log: Event Type: Error

Event ID: 5782
Description:
The Messaging Engine failed while executing the outbound map for the message going to the destination URL "DIRECT=TCP:IPAddress\Private$\QueueName>" with the Message Type "http://xx.xxxx.xx#xx_xxx_xx%22. Details: "The root element is missing."

Note The Message Queuing transport adapter is also known as the MSMQT adapter.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.
