SYMPTOMS
Your Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)-based computer may unexpectedly stop responding or experience random memory corruption when you resume from standby or from hibernation.
CAUSE
This problem can occur with some configurations of Windows XP SP2-based computers that take advantage of the hardware data execution prevention (DEP) feature of Windows XP SP2. For example, this problem might occur if you install a new, retail version of Windows XP SP2 on a computer that previously had an OEM version of Windows XP installed.
