SYMPTOMS

When a Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 virtual server fails over to a cluster node, Internet Information Services (IIS) Web sites that are hosted on the cluster will not start automatically after the server or the World Wide Web Publishing service is restarted.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Microsoft Exchange resets the ServerAutoStart setting on all IIS Web sites on the cluster when an Exchange virtual server failover occurs.
