SYMPTOMS
When you use existing software or custom applications to monitor hard disk volumes on your computer, the monitoring may stop, and the following System log event entry may be created:
Event-ID: 1
Source: SR
Symbolicname: EVMSG_DISABLED VOLUME
Description: "The systemrestore filter encountered the unexpected error 0xc000000d while processing the file file_name on the Volume volume_name. It has stopped monitoring the volume."
Note In some cases, the hexidecimal code displayed may be 0c000007f.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.
