SYMPTOMS

After you install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3), the Leave event for the TextBox control may not be raised when the focus is moved away from the TextBox control. Additionally, if focus is then moved back to the TextBox control and then you press the TAB key to move out of the TextBox control, the Leave event for the TextBox control is raised correctly.

This problem typically only occurs when the TextBox control first receives focus. When subsequent focus changes occur in the TextBox control, the Leave event is raised for every focus change.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next .NET Framework 1.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services telephone numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
