Only 50 accounts are assigned when you try to assign multiple accounts to a user in Microsoft CRM 1.2

Article ID: 885752

Article Last Modified on 8/11/2005

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft CRM 1.2

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, you want to assign multiple accounts to a user. You click to select the check box that appears under the Actions menu on the Accounts page to select all the accounts. However, when you assign those accounts to the user, only 50 accounts are assigned. You expect to be able to assign all the accounts at the same time.

This issue also occurs with the following functionality in Microsoft CRM 1.2:

  • Mail merge
  • Exporting

CAUSE

This issue occurs because you cannot select more than 50 accounts at a time in Microsoft CRM 1.2. When you click to select the check box that appears under the Actions menu on the Accounts page, only the first 50 accounts are selected. Therefore, you can only assign 50 accounts at a time.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, assign 50 accounts at a time until all the accounts are assigned to the user. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Start Microsoft CRM.
  2. In the GoTo menu, point to Service, and then click Accounts.
  3. Click to select the check box that appears under the Actions menu.

"50 of 50 selected" appears in the list of accounts.

  1. In the Actions menu, click Assign.
  2. In the Assign Accounts -- Web Page Dialog dialog box, click Assign to another user, and then click the Click to select a value button.

Note This button appears as a magnifying glass icon.

  1. In the Look Up Records -- Web Page Dialog dialog box, click Go, click the user who you want to assign the accounts to, and then click OK.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Repeat steps 2 through 6 until all the accounts are assigned to the user.
