APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition

A user is running Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 in cached mode. The user connects to a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server mailbox, and then the user deletes an item from his or her mailbox. Then, the user synchronizes his or her mailbox with the Exchange server. The deleted item still appears when the user recovers deleted items in Outlook 2003. This behavior occurs even though you have configured Exchange 2000 Server not to keep deleted items. To do this, you have set the Keep deleted items for (days) setting to 0 in Exchange 2000 Server.
