SYMPTOMS
When you view the contents of a Thin Client redirected drive by using a server-side instance of Microsoft Windows Explorer, and you insert an external storage device on the Microsoft Windows CE device, the view is not updated automatically. If you press the F5 key, or if you click Refresh Explorer on the View menu, the view is updated, and it shows the new storage device.
For example, this problem may occur if you insert a Compact Flash (CF) card or a USB disk on the Windows CE device.

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
MORE INFORMATION
Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) sessions can enable the redirection of the local file system. For Microsoft Windows CE-based clients, this redirection is of the root file system because Windows CE does not support drive letters. When a storage device is attached or inserted, Windows CE creates a new subfolder in the root of the file system. The new subfolder has a name such as "Storage Card."
