  6. Click OK to close the System Properties dialog box.

Method 4: Use background services

On a Microsoft Windows NT-based computer, a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, or on a Microsoft Windows XP-based computer, use processor scheduling background services. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Under Performance, click Settings.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Under Processor scheduling, click Background services and then click OK.
  6. Click OK to close the System Properties dialog box.

Method 5: Turn off hardware acceleration

Turn off the hardware acceleration on the computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Appearance and Themes.
  2. Click Display.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. Click the Troubleshoot tab.
  6. Under Hardware acceleration, move the Hardware acceleration slider to None, and then click OK.
  7. Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box.
