SYMPTOMS

When you configure the send port of the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Base EDI adapter to use a specific character for the segment terminator of a functional acknowledgement, the character of the segment terminator may be ignored.

File installation instructions

After you obtain this hotfix, following these steps:

  1. Double-click 207264_YourLanguageVersion_i386_zip to extract the hotfix to the location that you want.
  2. In the location where you extracted the hotfix to, double-click the setup.exe file to run the Setup program.
  3. After the Setup program has finished, locate the updateEDI.sql file. This file is in the same location as the extracted files.
  4. Use SQL Query Analyzer to run the UpdateEDI.sql file against the BizTalkEDIDB database.
  5. Click Start, click Run, type Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004\EDI\Subsystem\CompEIF.exe, and then click OK.
  6. Locate your extracted files, and then copy the Genins.exe file to the following location:

    Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004\EDI\Subsystem

  7. Restart the BizTalk Server Base EDI service.
