SYMPTOMS
When you try to perform an incremental update on a virtual dimension that is used in a remote partition for a cube in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services, the index and data file aggregations on the remote partition are not updated. The Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query returns data that is out of date from the remote server.

CAUSE
This problem may occur because lazy aggregation processing is used to update the index and aggregation data files.

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.
