SYMPTOMS

When you use the QueryCatalogInfo component to retrieve the properties of every item in an order in Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1, the DisplayName property is not included for product variants.

Note You expect the QueryCatalogInfo component to return the DisplayName property as item._product_DisplayName, but the component does not return the property for the product variants.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.

This hotfix may break sites that are based on the Commerce Server 2000 Retail sample code. The hotfix must be installed only if Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 is installed.

After you apply this hotfix, you must reregister Mscscore.dll. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    regsvr32 DriveLetter:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Enterprise Servers\Commerce Server\mscscore.dll
