SYMPTOMS
If you click a hyperlink that redirects you to an Office 2003 Web Component (OWC) that is on a different domain after you install Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), the Web page does not open correctly, and you do not receive the following message:
CAUSE
This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
- Some of the security level settings in Microsoft Internet Explorer have been increased by Windows XP SP2.
- The OWC components use the security level settings in Internet Explorer.
WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, change the security settings for the Access data sources across domains option to Prompt in Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
- Quit Internet Explorer or any Microsoft Office programs that you have running.
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Click Network and Internet Connections.
- Click Internet Options.
- On the Security tab, do one or both of the following, depending on your situation:
- Click Internet, and then click Custom Level.
- In the Downloads section of the Settings list, click Prompt for Access data sources across domains under Miscellaneous.
- Click Intranet, and then click Custom Level.
- In the Downloads section of the Settings list, click Prompt for Access data sources across domains under Miscellaneous.
