Issues that are fixed by the hotfix package

The following issues are fixed in this hotfix package, but they were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • If you print an Excel 2000 workbook that is contained in a HTML frameset in Microsoft Internet Explorer, each cell in the workbook is printed on a separate page. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

Margins do not fit page size.

This issue occurs if the Scaling option on the Page tab of the Excel workbook was set to Fit to 1 page(s) wide by 1 tall. To locate the Scaling option in Excel 2000, click Page Setup on the File menu.

  • When you try to open an Excel 2000 workbook, the workbook does not open. Instead, Excel quits unexpectedly, and then you receive the following error message:

Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
