Method 1: Microsoft Internet Explorer
To turn on Java and JavaScript in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
- Start Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
- Click the zone that you are using (for example, click Local Intranet), and then click Custom Level.
- Locate Java permissions, and then click one of the following options:
- High Safety
- Medium Safety
- Low Safety
- Locate Active scripting, and then click to select the Enable check box.
To turn on Java and JavaScript in Netscape Navigator, follow these steps:
- Start Netscape Navigator.
- On the Edit menu, click Preferences, and then click Advanced.
- Click to select the Enable Java check box.
- Click to select the Enable JavaScript check box.
- Click to select the Enable JavaScript for Mail and News check box.
- To turn on auto-install for plug-ins like the PlaceWare Slide Uploader, click SmartUpdate, and then click to select the Enable SmartUpdate check box.
Note Step 6 is optional.
