FIX: You may experience inaccurate results when you compile a project in Visual Studio .NET 2003 with either the /Og or the /Ob2 flags for optimization and then try to perform floating-point operations

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, you may use the /Og and /Ob2 flags for optimizations. When you compile your project, you may experience inaccurate results from mathematical operations on floating-point values.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Visual Studio .NET 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.
