SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, when you add an exception handler to an orchestration and then an exception occurs, two messages are suspended in the Health and Activity Tracking (HAT) tool instead of one message.

CAUSE

In BizTalk Server 2004, exceptions are caught two times by the exception handler and two messages are suspended in the HAT tool if the following conditions are true:

  • One orchestration is configured to start a second orchestration that is not enlisted or started.
  • An exception handler is in the first orchestration.


RESOLUTION

Service pack information

Hotfix information

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was corrected in BizTalk Server 2004 Service Pack 1.
