SYMPTOMS

You create a class that is derived from the System.EnterpriseServices.ServicedComponent class that runs in a COM+ application. The component may stop responding (deadlock) when you call the component from a Microsoft Visual Basic application integration component (AIC) that is called from Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the classes and the methods in the System.EnterpriseServices namespace do not correctly handle reentrancy.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 service pack that contains this hotfix.
