SYMPTOMS

You install the MS04-011 security update on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer. After you restart the computer, you may experience a delay before you can successfully log on to the computer. You may also experience a delay while the desktop is opening. When the desktop successfully opens, the following message is logged multiple times in the system event log: Event Source: PlugPlayManager
Event ID: 256
Description:
Timed out sending notification of device interface change to window of program, service name, or GUID.
