Introduction
This article discusses new performance counters that are included in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). If you experience a problem or a performance issue with information store searches, you can use these new performance counters to help you troubleshoot the problem or the performance issue.

Improved search-related performance counters have been added to Microsoft Exchange 2003 in Service Pack 1 (SP1). The particular features that are discussed in this article do not affect the performance of your computer. The information that is provided by these counters may not be directly useful to you. However, the error reporting and the performance monitoring information may be useful to Microsoft support professionals when they troubleshoot your search-related issues in Exchange Server.
The following performance counters are included in Exchange Server 2003 SP1:
Counter | Function |
Search Task Rate | The number of search tasks created per second. |
Restricted View Cache Hit Rate | The rate at which restricted views are reused in the store. |
Restricted View Cache Miss Rate | The rate at which restricted views are created in the store |
Slow FindRow Rate | The rate at which the slower FindRow has to be used in the store |
