SYMPTOMS
When you try to use the Microsoft Office Setup Assistant to install Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
You receive this error message although your hard disk appears to have sufficient free space to complete the installation by using the options that you selected.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if both of the following conditions are true:
- You performed a customized installation and did not install all the Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition components.
- You do not have sufficient free hard disk space to perform a full installation.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use a drag-and-drop operation to perform a custom installation. To do this, follow these steps:
- Insert the Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition CD-ROM in your CD or DVD drive.
- Double click Microsoft Office 2004.
- Under Choose one of the following options, double-click Microsoft Office 2004.
- Use a drag-and-drop operation to copy the components that you want to install to your hard disk.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition.
