Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

This hotfix package fixes the following issues:

  • 872938 The PresentationClose event does not return the Fullname, the Path, or the Name properties when you quit PowerPoint 2003

  • 842315 You receive the "Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost" error message when you run a VBA macro that copies a presentation to a new presentation in PowerPoint 2003

This hotfix package also fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • When you right-click a PowerPoint 2003 file, and then click Print, the dialog box that shows the printing progress stops responding (hangs). This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
    • You use a Component Object Model (COM) add-in that sinks events.
    • Background printing is turned off.

Note To view the background printing setting, click Options on the Tools menu, click the Print tab, and then view the Background printing check box.

  • When you switch to Slide Sorter view in PowerPoint 2003, you may experience a delay while the slide images update on the screen. This may take several more seconds than expected to finish. Additionally, PowerPoint 2003 may not respond in a timely manner, and you may notice a momentary degradation of performance.
