SYMPTOMS
After you have performed a command-line build of a project that you created by using Microsoft Visual C# .NET, the Microsoft IntelliSense feature for the project does not work when you open the project in the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 IDE.
CAUSE
When you run a command-line build on a project that was created by using Visual C# .NET, the file that the Visual Studio .NET IDE uses to provide the IntelliSense feature for the project is populated incorrectly. The next time that you open the project in the Visual Studio .NET IDE, the IntelliSense feature does not work because the Visual Studio .NET IDE cannot interpret the data in this file.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Visual Studio .NET 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

WORKAROUND
The Visual Studio .NET IDE uses the .projdata file to provide the IntelliSense feature for the project. This file is a hidden file. It is located in the Project Name\Debug folder of the project. To work around this problem, delete the .projdata file. For example, if your project is named MyProj, delete the following file:
MyProj\Debug\MyProj.projdata
After you delete the .projdata file, the Visual Studio .NET IDE recreates it automatically.
