SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Mailbox Merge Wizard (Exmerge.exe) to extract data from mailboxes on a Microsoft Exchange computer, Exmerge.exe may stop unexpectedly when you merge this data.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you run Exmerge.exe from a batch file, and if you use the numthreads switch to specify the exact number of threads that you want Exmerge.exe to use in multithreaded mode. The final thread may be stopped unexpectedly if the size of the mailboxes that the final thread must process is larger than the size of the mailboxes in a previous thread.
