SYMPTOMS
When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer to open a Microsoft WordPad file, the WordPad file may not open. Additionally, you receive an error message that states that the file could not be found or that another application is using the file.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the OLE structured storage component that is used by WordPad is trying to open the file exclusively. However, Internet Explorer still has an open file handle to the file that you are trying to open.
RESOLUTION
