SYMPTOMS

If you have a custom view that requires a horizontal scroll bar to see all the columns in Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, the column headings disappear when you scroll right and then click the Preview icon to view a record.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Microsoft Internal Information: The issue documented in this hotfix has been resolved with an updated rollup hotfix. Customers should download the Update Rollup 2 hotfix to correct this issue.

Installation information

Apply this hotfix on a computer that is running Microsoft CRM 1.2 Client or Microsoft CRM 1.2 Server. If the problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section occurs after you apply this hotfix, you must clear the Microsoft Internet Explorer cache on the Microsoft CRM 1.2 server. To clear the Internet Explorer cache, follow these steps:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. On the General tab, click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet files area, and then click OK.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have Microsoft CRM 1.2 installed.

Removal information

You cannot remove this hotfix.

Restart requirement

If you are prompted to restart your computer after you apply this hotfix, restart your computer.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Step 1: Create a custom view in Microsoft CRM

  1. Start Microsoft CRM as a system administrator, click Home, and then click Settings.
  2. Click System Customization, click Account, and then click Create a New View.
  3. Type a name for the view in the Name box, and then click OK.
  4. In the Common Tasks area, click Add Columns.
  5. In the Add Columns Web page, click to select every Field Name in the list. This adds every available column to the view. Click OK, and then click Save and Close to close the Create a New View Web page.

Step 2: Use the custom view in Microsoft CRM

  1. In Microsoft CRM, click Sales, and then click Accounts.
  2. In the View list, click the new view that you created.

    Note Make sure that you have at least 50 accounts listed under the new view that you created so that you have a vertical scroll bar to the right of the view.
  3. After all records populate the view, scroll all the way to the right, and then scroll down to the last record. Click to select the last record in the View list.
  4. Scroll to the left, and then click the Preview icon. All column headings that you selected in step 1e disappear.

Note To make the column headings reappear, click one of the records that is near the top of the View list, and then click the Preview icon.
