MORE INFORMATION
Rollup information
This update rollup fixes the following problems:
- When MIIS tries to disconnect and to reprovision the same object through the provisioning code that is written in the metaverse custom extension, you may receive an "extension dll exception" error message in the flow errors section of the MA run statistics. You may also receive an "object already exists" error in the synchronization error information for an object that fails in this way.
After you install this update, the delete-add operation works in such a way that the deletion occurs and the object is successfully provisioned. Therefore, you no longer receive the exception. Additionally, the object will not be seen as already existing and therefore the extension dll exception will not be generated. When you run a delta or full synchronization on a management agent, the provisioning rules delete an object and then add the object back. You may receive an "unexpected error" error message in the Flow Errors box. You may also receive the following error event message in the application event log.
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MIIServer
Event Category: Server
Event ID: 6301
Date: 3/2/2004
Time: 1:52:35 PM
User: N/A Computer: AP131154
Description: The server encountered an unexpected error in the synchronization engine:
"MMS(3932): Pre: HRESULT: 0x0<entry dn="CN=dlobject,OU=groups,OU=test,DC=Microsoft,DC=com"If a preview is generated on the object, you may receive the following error message:
After you apply this update, you no longer receive this error message. However, it is a good idea to make sure that the delete-add option that is occurring in the provision is expected behavior for your scenario. If it is not expected, evaluate the provisioning logic.
