SYMPTOMS
If a user tries to access a redirected folder after an administrator uses the Folder Redirection feature in Group Policy, a folder that is named %homedrive% appears on the user’s desktop.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if you install Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, and you use the %homedrive% variable in the path of the redirected folder.

The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, type the absolute path of the redirected folder. Do not type the %homedrive% variable in the path of the redirected folder. For example, type the path Drive_Letter:\Folder_Name.
