  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server

SYMPTOMS

Your Microsoft Windows 2000-based server may start to run very slowly, and it may eventually stop responding (hang). When this problem occurs, the following event is logged in the system event log: Event ID: 2019
Description: The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the Pool was empty.

CAUSE

The problem occurs from a nonpaged pool memory leak in the Cache Manager Bitmap range, allocated memory block Tag CcBr. This problem may occur if the opened file contains several pages that have been modified or changed. The cache manager creates non embedded bitmaps of the file that are never released from memory.
