SYMPTOMS
On a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, the Lsass.exe process may use too much CPU time if both of the following conditions are true:
- Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 is installed on the computer.
- Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connections are enabled on the computer.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if an IIS 5.0 Web site is configured for certificate mapping, and a client requests information that requires client authentication while SSL is enabled.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this article when the information becomes available.
