SYMPTOMS
When you try to update your timesheet in Microsoft Office Project Server 2003, Microsoft Project Web Access (PWA) stops responding (hangs). After you close the Web browser, an error message that is similar to the following is written to the application event log:
CAUSE
This problem may occur if Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) times out before it receives a response from the Microsoft SQL Server.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, you can extend the Active Server Pages (ASP) time out value to a larger value such as 600 seconds or 10 minutes. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
- Expand the entry for your server.
- Expand Web Sites.
- Right-click your Web site, and then click Properties.
- On the Home Directory tab, click Configuration.
- On the Options tab, change the ASP script timeout value.
For example, change the ASP script timeout value to 600.
- Click OK to close the Application Configuration dialog box.
- Click OK to close the Web site properties dialog box.
