SYMPTOMS
You may open some Web pages by using the Microsoft Windows CE 4.2 Internet Explorer browser configured in the TV-Style Navigation mode. This mode includes the Force-Fit mode. When you do this, the browser may stop responding when it is displaying the Web page. After some time, you may receive an out-of-memory (OOM) dialog box that prompts you to terminate a process to free memory.

This software update is supported only if all previously issued software updates for this product have also been installed.
Restart requirement
After you install this software update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To clean the platform, click Clean on the Build menu. To build the platform, click Build Platform on the Build menu. You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this software update.

After you apply this software update, the browser will not stop responding when it tries to display the Web page and will not consume system memory. However, the browser may not be able to display all the content that is on the Web page. Other modes of the browser may display a complete version of the Web page. For example, you may disable Force-Fit mode.
Force-Fit mode is enabled when the following registry value is set. By default, this value is set when TV-Lens mode is selected during platform design.
