SYMPTOMS
When you try to create a new Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002 Web project or template by using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, you may receive the following error message:
This issue only occurs when both the following conditions are true:
- You have installed MCMS on a computer that is running a non-US version of the Microsoft Windows Server operating system.
- MCMS is not installed in the default location.
RESOLUTION
Service pack information

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.This problem was corrected in Content Management Server 2002 Service Pack 1a.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem:
- Open the following two files with any text editor:
- [CMS-Root]\DevTools\NewItemWizards71\NewCSharpProjectItemWizards\NewCSharpCmsTemplateWizard.vsz
- [CMS-Root]\DevTools\NewItemWizards71\NewVBProjectItemWizards\NewVBCmsTemplateWizard.vsz
- Locate the line that contains Param="TEMPLATES_PATH =". Correct the original template path from its default (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\DevTools...) so that it corresponds to the path on your MCMS computer.
