SUMMARY
By default, Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services features are turned on in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. In cases where administrators do not want their Outlook 2003 users to have access to Windows SharePoint Services features, it is possible to turn off these features.

To turn off Windows SharePoint Services features for Outlook 2003 users, do the following.
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
- Start Registry Editor.
- Locate the following registry key:
HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\11\Outlook\Preferences\
- In the left pane, right-click Preferences, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type DisableSTS to name the new DWORD value.
- Double click DisallowSTS to edit the DWORD value that you just created, type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
When a user clicks a Windows SharePoint Services link (sstssync:// ) after the administrator configures the registry setting, they receive the following message:
