SUMMARY
Before you use the Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server Administrators Guide topic, "Configuring the Lotus Notes Protocol Handler," you must install the Lotus C++ API Toolkit that is appropriate for your version of SharePoint Portal Server 2003.

Download the version of the toolkit that is appropriate for your version of SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
To determine your version of SharePoint Portal 2003, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- In the list of currently installed programs, click Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, click Click here for support information, and then note the version number.
If you are running the original release version of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 or if you are running SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) without hotfixes, and your version number is 11.0.6715.0 or an earlier version, you need lcppn201.dll. This version is no longer supported by IBM. Therefore, we recommend that you upgrade to SharePoint Portal Server 2003 SP1 that has a version number later than 11.0.6715.0. If you are running SharePoint Portal Server 2003 SP1 with hotfixes, or if you are running SharePoint Portal Server 2003 with a service pack that is later than SP1, and your version is later than 11.0.6715.0, download version 2.4 of the Lotus Notes API Toolkit.
To download the Lotus C++ API Toolkit, follow these steps:
- Visit the following IBM Web site:
- Click Lotus C++ API Toolkit 2.x& 3.x for Multiplatform, and then type your IBM ID and password to sign in to the IBM software downloads Web site.
- Agree to the license agreement.
Note You must register with IBM to obtain an IBM ID. The registration is free. - On the download page, select the appropriate toolkit for the version of the lcppn DLL that you want:
Note The Lotus C++ API Toolkit file contains several updated files. However, a server that is running SharePoint Portal Server 2003 only requires one. For versions of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 SP1 later than 11.0.6715.0, this file is named Lcppn24.dll.
Lotus C++ API Toolkit Release 2.4 for Windows English US (SPS2003 SP1)
- Extract the appropriate file for your version to the following location on each server that is running SharePoint Portal Server 2003 that will also use Lotus Notes:
C:\Program Files\SharePoint Portal Server\Bin
- After you extract the file that is appropriate for your version, follow the instructions in the "Configuring the Lotus Notes Protocol Handler" Help topic.
