SYMPTOMS

When you run an application that was built by using the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, and the application is under heavy load and uses a lot of memory, you may receive the following error message:

The instruction at "0x79259769' referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read".

RESOLUTION

Software update information

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This software update may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next .NET Framework 1.1 service pack that contains this software update.

Prerequisites

To install this software update, you must have .NET Framework 1.1 installed on your computer. By default, the .NET Framework 1.1 is included with the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system.
