PRB: The Application Center Perflog Consumer COM+ Package May Not Be Removed When You Remove Event and Performance Logging

SYMPTOMS

If you remove Event and Performance Logging from an installation of Microsoft Application Center 2000, the Microsoft AC Perflog Consumer COM+ Application is not removed. However, the DLL that it references, Plogcons.dll, is removed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, manually remove the Microsoft AC Perflog Consumer COM+ application:

  1. Click Start, and then click Programs.
  2. Click Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services.
  3. Expand the following nodes in this order: Component Services; Computers; My Computer; COM+ Applications.
  4. Right-click AC Perf Log Consumer, and then click Properties.
  5. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Disable Deletion check box, and then click OK.
  6. Right-click AC Perf Log Consumer, and then click Delete.
  7. When you receive the Confirm Item Delete dialog box, click Yes.
  8. To confirm that AC Perf Log Consumer has been removed, click Refresh on the Action menu.
