APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Host Integration Server 2000 Service Pack 1

SYMPTOMS

When you use an application that uses the Session Level Interface (SLI) version of the Logical Unit Application (LUA) programming interface, and a host system is sending a network services procedure error (NSPE) request unit (RU), the SLI library responds with an incorrect response. The incorrect response causes the host to stop responding until the correct response is submitted.

CAUSE

The WINSLI32 library must send a correct response unit to acknowledge the NSPE RU. The incorrect response does not have the required format indicator (FI) bit set in the response header, and the incorrect response also does not include the 3 byte function management data (FMD) NS request code.
