Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package

The following issues are fixed in this hotfix package, but they were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • If you open a document in a public folder that you only have Read permissions for and make no changes, you receive the following message when you close the document:

Unable to save changes to the document. Your changes will be placed in the temporary file, 'C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLKF\...'.

You can copy this file into the original folder if you want to recover your changes to the original document. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object. See the folder contact or your system administrator.

  • If a user who has Edit permissions on a public folder opens a document and then closes it without making any changes, other users who view the folder may see the item marked as unread. This behavior is unexpected.
