SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade your Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack 4 client to a Systems Management Server 2003 advanced client, some advertisements that have been run previously may unexpectedly run again.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if you have applied the Hotfix Rollup Package that Microsoft Knowledge Base article 323206 describes to the Systems Management Server 2.0 Service Pack 4 client before you upgrade to the Systems Management Server 2003 advanced client.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

After you upgrade to the Systems Management Server 2003 advanced client, view the registry on the client computer to verify whether all the advertisements have been imported after the upgrade.

The following registry key contains the imported history:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client\Software Distribution\Execution History\{Package ID}\{GUID corresponds to each program}

Any advertisement that has not been successfully imported may run again.
