Article ID: 828608

Article Last Modified on 11/10/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2007
  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2003
  • Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 1

SYMPTOMS

When you start to write in the note area of a Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 or Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 page on a Tablet PC, the Input Method Editor (IME) in the Language bar may appear to be turned off. That is, the Input style is changed to IMM32 mode (dark red balloon icon).

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the focus (or insertion point) is in the title section of the OneNote page.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, move the focus in OneNote to the main note area. To do this, do one of the following before you try to write in OneNote on a Tablet PC:

  • Tap with the pen in the main note area of the page.
  • Press TAB.
  • Press CTRL+T.
