SYMPTOMS

In Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, the Win32_DiskDrive Partitions attribute returns a <null> result when there are 16 or more logical drives in an extended partition on a Basic disk. The Partitions attribute is valid only on disks that contain less than 16 partitions (logical drives).

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, create 15 or fewer logical drives in an extended partition on a Basic drive.
