This article describes the Microsoft Word 2002 issues that are fixed in the Word 2002 Post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated September 25, 2003.

Issues that are fixed in the hotfix package
The following issues are fixed in this hotfix package but were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you try to save a Microsoft Word document that you have open in DocsOpen, Word may quit unexpectedly and the document is not saved. This problem may occur when the Prompt for document properties option is selected on the Save tab (on the Tools menu, click Options) in Word.
When you try to turn on the Allow row to break across pages option on the Row tab in Word (on the Table menu, click Table Properties), Word may quit unexpectedly and you receive the following error message:
If you view the details of the error message, you receive an error signature that is similar to the following:

This issue may occur when the table row contains vertical text in one table cell and a nested table in another cell.

- The optimized version of this hotfix is a post-Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office XP SP-2 installed.

- The optimized version of this hotfix requires Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0 or later.

- The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix with Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP-1). However, Microsoft has not tested this fix on Office XP SP-1 to the same extent as on Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2). If you install this hotfix on a computer with Office XP SP-1 installed, some file conflicts might occur. Microsoft supports this configuration, but Microsoft does not recommend this configuration.
