SYMPTOMS
When you try to use a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) phone to connect to the Internet, you may have to redial repeatedly before you can establish a connection.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because network congestion prevents the GPRS phone from receiving a Domain Name System (DNS) server address in a timely manner. Typically, the Internet Protocol Control Protocol (IPCP) makes only five configuration requests for a DNS server address. Because the link is slow, the GPRS phone may require up to eight requests before it receives an IP address and establishes the connection.
