SYMPTOMS

In Performance Monitor (PerfMon), the Logical Disk counter may incorrectly return a value of 0 if both of the following conditions are true:

  • PerfMon.exe is running.
  • You are using another program to query the registry value for the disk performance counter.


CAUSE

This problem occurs because PerfMon unloads the Perfdisk.dll unexpectedly.
