This article describes the Microsoft Outlook 2002 issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Outlook 2002 Post-Service Pack 2 hotfix package that is dated August 22, 2003.

Issues That Are Fixed in the Hotfix Package

The following issues are fixed in this hotfix package, but they were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

  • When you try to use the GoToDate method in the Microsoft Outlook object model to show a specific date in the Calendar, Microsoft Outlook stops responding (hangs).
  • When an invitee responds to a meeting request, the response is delivered to the delegate instead of the meeting organizer. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
    • A delegate creates an appointment in an owner's (meeting organizer's) calendar.
    • The owner opens the calendar and forwards the meeting request.
  • When you try to install a printer on a computer that has both Microsoft Office XP and Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 installed, you may receive the following error message:

    Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied.

  • The optimized version of this hotfix is a post-Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) hotfix. To install the hotfix, you must have Office XP SP-2 installed.

  • The optimized version of this hotfix requires Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0 or later.

  • The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix with Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP-1). However, Microsoft has not tested this fix on Office XP SP-1 to the same extent as on Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2). If you install this hotfix on a computer with Office XP SP-1 installed, some file conflicts might occur. Microsoft supports this configuration, but we do not recommend this configuration.
