SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), temporary event registrations against a local server or against a local service event provider cannot be authorized by using the IWbemEventProviderSecurity::AccessCheck method.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the thread token contains the local system identity instead of the WMI temporary consumer identity. This problem only affects out-of-process providers.
For in-process (DLL) event providers, the IWbemEventProviderSecurity::AccessCheck method is called by using the correct thread token information. Therefore, this problem does not affect in-process event providers.
