SYMPTOMS
When you try to install an "advertised" component in a Microsoft Office 2003 program, you may be prompted to insert your Office 2003 CD.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if any one of the following conditions is true:
- The Msocache folder was not created while the Office 2003 Setup program was running because of a lack of free disk space--for example, free disk space was less than 1.5 gigabytes (GB).
- The Msocache folder was not created while the Setup program was running because of the intentional use of the CDCACHE=0 option during the installation of Office 2003.
- The Msocache folder was created, but only selected features were installed because of available free disk space between 1.5 and 2.5 GB (CDCACHE=1).
- The Msocache folder content (cab files) were removed at the end of the Office Setup program.
- The Msocache folder content (cab files) were removed by the Cleanup Wizard.
- The Msocache folder or its contents, including the bootstrap files, were manually deleted.

The Msocache folder is created as a local installation source for your Office 2003 installation. When the Office 2003 Setup program requires source files, instead of prompting your for your Office CD-ROM, the Setup program uses the local installation source (the Msocache folder) for the files that are required to complete the Setup program.
The Msocache folder is a hidden folder and resides at the root-level of the drive that you installed Office. If you have multiple hard disk drives, the Msocache folder will reside at the root-level of the drive that has the most available space.
