SYMPTOMS
When you press CTRL+SHIFT+KANA on the Microsoft Universal Serial Bus (USB) Japanese 106/109 keyboard to turn on or to turn off the Kana lock, the state of the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock light-emitting diode (LED) indicators is reversed. The indicators that are off are turned on, and the indicators that are turned on are turned off. The status of the Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock functions is not affected. Only the indicators change.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the KANA LOCK key tries to light a fourth indicator, but the Microsoft USB Japanese 106/109 keyboard driver is set for a maximum of three indicators.
